Product Description Many homes have staircases that aren't bordered by a wall. In this situation the Y Spindle aids installation of the pressure mounted gates to these types of staircases. The Y Spindle wraps around the baluster to provide a secure installation.

Just What We Needed By Amy T. – April 12, 2010 Love this! We weren't sure how we were going to get a gate on our stairs since we have a spindle staircase just like the pictured. So glad we come across this. Unfortunately although it does work it does need to be tightened quite often as it can get loose from normal use. Still better then having no gate at the foot of the stairs.
