By Samuel D. – August 02, 2010 Okay, so pardon the above pun, but my son has loved the pounder since 6mo of age. We look for quality toys from SAFE companies. Plan Toys provides safe toys free from BPA, phthalates, or lead paint. The balls are stained, not painted, so they won't ever chip! We also look for toys that will grow with our child. As an infant, he liked to mouth/teeth on the balls and mallet. When he started crawling, he had TONS of fun crawling after the balls on our hardwood floors. They were great crawling incentives. Then, he worked on dumping things out, and now, at 9.5 months, he is working on putting the balls back in. I know the Mallet will eventually double as a hammer for work projects, and someday, it will be great for teaching color sorting/cause and effect and coordination/motor skills. It will be a long time, I think, until he is able to use it for it's intended use. Before they are able to use the mallet to move the balls, the child can press the balls down to make the next one pop up. It's wonderful! (And the balls fit other Plan ball toys, too.)
Another great product from Plan Toys By E. Purvis – August 02, 2010 My daughter got this last Christmas and it has been much played-with. While she didn't get that she needed to hit the balls at first (she was 15 months and would rather take the balls out and roll them across the floor!) she knows what she is suppose to do now (although those balls still end up under all the furniture.. it doesn't help our cats like to paw them around too.) This toy has held up well and since my daughter likes to put everything in her mouth, I also love that it all non-toxic and not some cheap chemical-laden plastic from China. We love Plan Toys!
enjoyed by all! By Cathy L. – August 02, 2010 I love the fact that my child can play with this with or without the hammer! My 2 1/2 year old twins play with this, even though we bought it for out 18 month old! There are not too many toys that my baby can play with, that will hold the interest of my 2 1/2 year olds. I recommend this because your child will get long use from it. I really like the fact that the balls can be removed. I didn't realize this prior to bringing this toy home because I thought the wooded edges kept the balls intact. We get to play with the colorful wooden balls separate from the toy! I roll the balls to my 2 1/2 year olds and my 18 month old like to chase the balls. We really get a lot of use from this toy. It works like a charm.. and usual with Plan Toys, the edges are rounded, quality craftsmanship and I expect this toy will last for several years even considering it is being play with by 3 children! Since it has such a wide age range and it held my child's interest for at least half an hour at a time, and since you can roll the balls, and therefore, get several functional uses from this toy.. I highly recommend this!
By M. Smith – August 02, 2010 We bought the MIRACLE POUNDING TOY for my 17 month old son. He has gotten several months of enjoyment out of it. The colorful wooden balls get taken out and played with all over the house. He also sits and plays with it more as designed, pushing a ball into one opening and watching another ball get pushed out the lower opening. Yoy may or may not want to have the hammer out. We find that the MIRACLE POUNDING TOY is enjoyed without it, and so currently have retired the hammer (so as to avoid the "pound on this not that" discussion). |
