I absolutely loved this!
when I had my first daughter, she would always wake up the moment I put her down into the solid, hard, huge crib
so when my second daughter came along I looked for something like this, she loved it. and I loved just being able to rock her to sleep, or let her dose back off in the middle of the night.
it's fairly small, and that was great, my little girl got a little freaked out when her arms would fall all the way to the side, but in this she just curled up.
I was a little worried about her transitioning to a regular crib, but apparently she just grew out of her need for a motion bed and sleeps fine in her crib at 6 months of age, where she hated the crib when she was tiny.
anyway, highly highly recommended :)

This was a life-saver. I had never even seen one before until a friend recommened it. It was much more comfortable for my son as a newbron comapred to a traditional swing where their head seems to flop to the side or forward. My son was happy in this thing for hours. Great product, very sturdy and well made. Easy to clean when needed as well.

This looks so comfortable, I want one! This style worked out much better for our daughter than the traditional swings. Unfortunately, she didn't take to being confined very long except for in the wrap, but for the short time she loved this.

My nephew loved this as an infant.The only disadvantage is that hes going to be out of it soon probably around a month or two and hes not a big baby. Its easy to move around, VERY LIGHT, but DONT buy this for just the swing part, there are MUCH better swings out there for just naps or entertainment. I specificlly bought this swing for sleeping purposes. It is NOT a battery powered or plug in swing it moves only when you push it or the baby moves.

lifesaver

We bought this late in the game for our 6 month old who was waking every hour! Worked great she slept 6 hours the first night (great for her at the time) and continued to inprove her sleep habits. I used to use my foot to gently rock her when she started stiring :)We could only use this less then 2 months becuase she was sitting up in it. We were able to resell this for close to what we paid, so well worth the money for sure! Sleep is priceless!!

Great soothing Rocker

My little man was not into swings or bouncy seats. I personally hated bouncy seats because they flip so easy, but THIS was wonderful. He was all snuggly and comfy and gave my arms a break!

Great Product!

This was worth every penny to us. When nothing else worked during the colic days, this was a lifesaver. She was so comfortable in it and it soothed her easily. It's so much nicer looking than some of the similar objects that are plastic. I am happy with this purchase!

Alternative to a swing

As the mommy of a reflux baby, this was a great buy for us- because our baby did NOT like the swing! We tried one of these and were hooked. The recline is perfect for reflux babies after eating as their stomachs settle- I could never duplicate the same angle in the crib with the mattress. The greatest thing about them is that the movement is so gentle, and you don't have the noise of the swing. Plus, it's light enough to move around the house and is more attractive than a clunky swing. If you have a sensitive baby, it's an absolute must-have. We'd swaddle her, put her in the hammock, and she'd sleep like an angel. Worth every penny!

We got this for our son because our daughter had bad colic and heard wonders about this swing. The manual says 23lbs is the limit, but on the website, it says 15 I believe. I would not have used past 15 lbs just to be safe, but I felt like this was faulty advertising. My son was not colicky, nor did he like this swing, so I wish I hadn't spent so much on a product that only got about two weeks worth of use. I would have tried the product at a later time, however, my son reached 15 lbs by 2 months (he was nearly 10 lbs at birth) so I did not feel confident given the contradictory weight limit. You do need quite a bit of space for the swing--the frame itself is quite large.

Wonderful if you have children who dont sleep well. Its soft and enclosed enough to make the baby feel safe. It rocks gently so it doesnt startle the baby and the angle can be adjust to lay baby down for sleeping or to tie them up. I like that its sturdy and still light enough to move around and put on the patio when its nice out.

We've used this for my youngest son and it has truly been a lifesaver. I cannot emphasize more about how he will only nap in this and I get a decent night's sleep because of it. So, so useful and well worth the money spent.

I used the amby

When I brought my son home from the hospital he couldn't sleep laying flat on his back due to acid reflux. This was perfect to prop him up just a little and keep him close to the bed so I could easily reach him for nursing. Would definetly recomend this cocoon.

Our daughter Loves this hammock. We originally had a basinette and she hated it and we didn't like not sleeping. I'd heard a few recomendations for different hammocks and picked this one because of the beautiful design (ours has a black and white design). Love it. It is easy to set up. Helps soothe baby back to sleep at night and ultra comfy. I also like that you can adjust the level of elevation. With our daughters asthma/reflux, she likes a certain level of elevation for her head to sleep well. The additional toys are adorable as well.

I had this and was not in love. I returned it and bought a cheaper swing. I made me nervous with only the very top being held in place. I would suggest getting a regular swing.

I only used this for a couple days before I found my son in a position that I felt was pretty unsafe. His hands and feet were a dusky blue, and his breathing was labored since his head was not at a good angle. I haven't used it since.

The entire thing is really light weight and I can easily move it from room to room with my little girl in the other arm. There are several cons with this for me: 1) it's not easy to put the baby in because the thing sways while you're trying to fit the baby through (holding him with two hands so you can't stabilize the hammock with one hand) and put her down in the right place inside; 2) you're not supposed to use this when the baby is able to start crawling vs. the crib, which children can stay in for years, so if you just go for a crib to begin with, maybe you're saving money; 3)it's not easy to clean if something spills. The pros, however, is that it's light weight and takes up much less space than a crib. Plus, the baby sleeps SO well in it that I think it's worth every penny.


We are traveling to Florida in a few weeks and I plan on taking this with us!

Our daughter sleeps in our bed at night but we use this during the day for naps. She doesn't usually sleep for longer than 15-30 min. during the day but when we put her in the cocoon and swing her to sleep she'll sleep for almost 2 hours! I love the natural hemp fabric and it's nice that it's gender neutral just in case we have a boy the next time around. The entire thing is really light weight and I can easily move it from room to room with one hand while I have my little girl in my other arm. We are traveling to Florida in a few weeks and I plan on taking this with us!

I borrowed one of these when my daughter was having reflux that kept us both up all night long. She slept in it for several weeks until the medicine got her condition under control. If I had it to do over again, I would never have wasted money on a bassinet and would have gotten one of these instead. It's amazing! A must for any house so parents and baby can sleep.

When my little girl was an infant, we used this arms reach hammock exclusively.. We received it as a gift and it was a lifesaver. Baby girl wouldn't take to a swing or bouncer, just the hammock. I wish they came in a larger size for bigger babies!

My sister-in-law has the Arms Reach Beautiful Dreamer Cocoon and it looks amazing. She used it in the lounge during the day and moved it to her bedroom at night, as it was light enough to move around (without baby in it obviously!). My niece slept through the night very early on and had to be woken up for feeds; now to me this shows the cocoon must be very comfortable. The gentle natural rocking motion sent her off to sleep quickly too. I loved it so much I was told I'd be able to use it for our next baby but now it turns out she's already expecting again too so I won't be getting it - booooo. I'm determined to save up and get it myself!

This hammock looks lovely in any room. My friend has this for her daughter and it is beautiful. She boasts how easy it is to get the baby in and out of and how easy it is to move from room to room if she needs it for a nap. The drawback was the price for this item since it can't be used as long as a crib can.

My best friend's baby boy has horrible reflux and they tried all kinds of things to help him but nothing seemed to work. The poor little guy would just scream every time you laid him down. She saw this bed on another mom's facebook page and decided to try it out. She said that it is the best thing she has ever bought for her baby! If your baby has reflux or colic you might want to give this a try.

we bought this for my daughter and though i don't prefer bassinets or anything of the sort, this was a god send!! she was very refluxy, and this kept her from being on her back, and staying fussy! she got her best sleep in this and so did we!!
we were able to keep it in our room or bring it anywhere around the house. also packed up easy and went to the inlaws! perfect!!
washes well from any new baby messes!! rni recommend these to friends ALOT!! my sister is actually using ours right now for her new baby.

Good Product

We used this at a friends house while I was babysitting. I did not expect to like it this much but I did. I don't think I would want to use it much, but was handy with two babies needing attention or feeding off each others upsets. Is a little more comforting to me for the newborn stage than the bouncer we have too.

We had one of these with our last baby who is now just over a yr old. He slept in here for the first 3 months of his life. He was born in the winter and had several colds with the dreamer we could elevate his head safely so he could breath easier. The sheets are super soft and baby can nestle right in. And when baby does stir it rocks and sways gently so baby can fall back to sleep. I loved our dreamer and so did our baby.

I really wanted to like this "sleeper," but I never felt comfortable leaving my son in there for extended periods of time (he never wanted to sleep alone anyway so it worked out well--ha!) He had major reflux from birth-on, so this was good for keeping him somewhat elevated.
We didn't keep this for very long! Moved onto a traditional co-sleeper instead.

a great hammock

when my child was born, i bought this hammock for him to use. he loved to sleep in it and the toys that hung above amused him when he was awake. the hammock is very safe and it is strong and sturdy as well. i wish it came in a color other than white, but at least it was able to match with any theme i chose for his nursery. it is also nice to sit out on the deck and put this hammock there when i am outside because it let my son have a bit of fresh air in a safe little space.

Baby Scout was a very fussy newborn and this product was a lifesaver. We would not have gotten sleep with out it. The down side to it is that she out grew it fast. But those that have a fussy baby or has colic it is a must have

Really great for a fussy/colicky baby, it's very comforting for them. I always worried a bit about smothering though, so I didn't use it for nighttime, only during the day when I could keep a close eye on it. Very soft and cozy and comfortable, like recreating the womb.

Nice for naps near family

This was nice for naps near the family. We used the co-sleeper almost entirely for night time sleep since it was easier for me as a nursing mama, but I was glad to have this as well. Although if I had it to do over again and could only pick one of the three (crib, this, and co-sleeper) I would definately pick the co-sleeper.

I had to limit myself to this or a bassinet, and the hammock won hands down. Tough it doesnt feel like it provides much support it truly does. This is a MUST have for colicky babies!!! It gently soothes them to sleep while still being close to mommy!

Our granddaughter loved her hammock! I wish they made them large enough for adults as she looked so cozy in it. She really didn't have reflux and was only suffered from colic for a short time but I think this bed did help her sleep better. Would definitely recommend this to others.

we borrowed this from a friend when we realized that our baby would not sleep in a regular bassinet. she needed constant movement to sleep. this was very helpful and allowed us to get some long stretches of sleep. she outgrew this hammock pretty quickly, but i think if i had to buy it i would even if we only used for a short time. i would wait until your baby is born and see what kind of sleeper she is before investing.

perfect for the first several months

My mum bought this for us when I was pregnant. My baby was put inside there immediately when we came back from the hospital. She seemed to adjust well inside there and was able to fall asleep soon. Within the first several months it is a perfect place to have a nap for no longer than 30 minutes. When she wakes up she twists inside so vigorously that we began to worry about her safety. At the age of 4 month she hated to be put inside. So all in all, this is great for the first several months for us.

Like the womb.

I had received this for a shower gift and I wasn't convinced until I put my newborn in it. He fell asleep instantly. It is east to set up and take down which was nice when we traveled. It seems to put the baby in a cuddled position that mimics the womb. The fabric is also easy to clean. The only negative was that as soon has my son got to be around 10 lbs, he didn't enjoy being in it anymore.

My sister in law has one of these for her youngest daughter. She puts her in it for all her naps. My niece loves it. The only thing that we don't like is that it almost seems unsteady now that the baby is getting bigger. She probably won't be able to stay in it much longer.

I love this, its so much more portable than a traditional swing, and i liked the simplicity of it all. Loved it for naps when i could just put her next to my bed, but not in the bassinet. Easy to travel with as well.

This worked for our allergy baby

We had a daughter that would wake every hour for 6 months, we finally bought this product and she was sleeping for 4 hour stretches the first night. She grew out of it quickly by 8 months, but it help train her to sleep longer stretches...wish we would have bought this sooner....we were able to resell it for almost the price new, so it was worth it for us.

My son LOVED his cocoon! It made him feel so safe and secure. The problem was, he loved it SO much, when it came time to transition, he had some issues being put in his crib with wide open spaces. That being said, I would still buy one (or keep the one I have) for a next child.

Loved It!

I bought this as a splurge for baby #2 and we got SOOOO much use out of it. She took all her naps in it for like 6 months. It was great to be able to swing it, or bounce it. She was super comfortable in it, and she really loved being in there. Towards the end of using it we hung toys from the two toy straps that reached down to her and she would sit in there eating the toys for quite a while. She outgrew the weight restriction long before she was over being in there!

Not for all babies

We were given one of these by a friend who swore by it. We tried using it night one home from the hospital and our daughter hated it. We chalked it up to it being her first night home and tried it for another week to no avail. We had really hoped it would work since it is relatively small with a small footprint and fit well in our room. It was very well made and high quality. It was obviously just not a good fit for us!

My nugget refused to sleep at all during the night when we brought her home from the hospital. She would cry from 10 pm until 8 am. I didn't know what to do for her and it was really frusturating. I found the cocoon on this website and we were willing to try anything. From the very first night we have used it our daughter has slept through the night...every night. I don't use it during the day at all, not even for naps. We use it strictly for nighttime sleeping. It's easy to put together and to take apart for travel. I read that someone had complained of a smell but we didn't have that problem at all. I would recommend this product to anyone. We love it and our baby loves it.

It is a nice swing- but you have to be careful and use it properly. Not to be used after your child can move around on their own- because their is a great risk of falling. rnAlso- make sure you don't put any extra padding or pillows or blankets in with the baby.

I gave this recently as a gift and the person we gave it to says it has been a lifesaver. SHe says that her little one cries and cries (colic) until he goes into this. It is just soothing I guess.. I think they look amazing & are much sturdier than they appear in the picture. They are very beautiful also. I would definitely get one should I have another baby.

Great alternative to swings and hard pack n plays

We had an AMBI product similar to this one that was recalled... we had loved it so much that we sought this out as an alternative. We love it more! I have found this to be perfect for newborns. It was easy to set up and use in our bedroom for the first few weeks. I could slide it right up beside our bed. It does create a nice cradling effect that my little one loved. Many nice LONG naps have taken place in this product.

Mixed Review

This came very highly recommended to me by a friend. I used it for my now 22 month old for naps and night time sleep. He slept very well in it for both. I do think the bouncy swaddled feel helps newborns, especially over a stiff pack n play bassinet like we used for our first son. I also liked that it easily fit next to my bedside. The base is wide, understandably for stability. There were several things that I wasn't so thrilled about. My rather large baby grew out of fairly quickly. We switched him to his crib after 5 months. I can't even imagine a 1 year old sleeping in it. Also as the baby grows they can't move very easily in it, which became uncomfortable for DS. I My DS also has a bit of flat head syndrome. I don't know if it is genetic or from not being able to move his head as he got older. He was in a carrier or on his tummy so I just don't know what else could have caused it. So in conclusion, DS slept great in this and was able to establish good sleep patterns early on. I just don't know if it was because of the sleep hammock. He grew out of it quicly, which was a major downfall. I am undecided if I would use it for a next child.

i bought this exact thing for my son but I got it at a second hand store in my town. He didn't like it at all. I thought it was so cool looking and very cute. He just never wanted to lay in it. It cradled him really nice though and looked really cozy. And the cute little toys that it comes with are nice as well and if I remember correctly it can hold baby to 25 or 30 pounds which is more than most swings. I loved it, the problem was probably with my baby and not this seat.

A baby Cocoon

We loved our Cocoon for our little man. We placed it beside our bed in lieu of a bassinet. It worked so much nicer and I could simply reach over and gently rock or bounce it when he awoke in the middle of night to calm him. He seemed to love it. He napped in it also and it was nice to take from our bedroom to family without disassembling it. We traveled with it when he was newborn and had no problems checking it in at the airport!!

Nice but not for long

My friend had this for her baby and baby did enjoy it as it was more enclosed and I think baby slept longer while using it. Only problem is they quickly outgrow it so does not work for the long term. May help get you through those first few months when sleep is hard to come by and baby needs extra comfort and enclosure that a crib can not provide.

I got this for my son and used it at nighttime right next to our bed. He slept wondefully in it. He was not a colicky baby, but my 1st son hated sleeping flat on his back so we thought we'd be prepared. I love that when the baby moves it gently moves with him, so he could essentially rock himself back to sleep. I never had any concerns about his safety in it either. It is very lightweight so it would be fairly easy to maneuver around the house, but we did not. I would definitely recommend this.

good, wish could use more/longer

We had some friends give us this for a shower gift. really was nice, though was then tough of course to get babe to sleep alone in crib at night (and still is - we cosleep sometimes). I actually wish it was bigger or another size came that we could hook to the top. Babe is 21 lbs and weight limit is 23 lbs but he moves around so much and can sit up, even stand up, so don't use much since I worry about safety when he's in it now. if he zonks out in my arms I put him in it still but then have to stay in same room in case he wakes up and tries getting out. great for when he was 6 mos and less though - helped me get a good 4 hrs sleep at one chunk of time.

Great for small/younger babies

This is a great invention because the baby soon learns to make a small movement and the hammock moves and soothes the baby :) Great alternative to to a traditional bassinet! The only down side is that it can only be used while your baby is still relatively young/small ~ up to 4 mo or so, as they risk pulling themselves up as they get older. Great investment though and worked wonders for our collicky daughter!

A must have for non sleepers!

Our daughter would NOT sleep in her crib. We used this for the first couple of months. It was the only way any of us could get any sleep.

Great for naps

I co sleep with my kids and when they were newborn I would put then in here for naps and it was perfect. I is hard sometime to place the baby in b/c you are using 2 hands on the baby and do not have an extra hand to hold the swing still. I am very pleased with it.

great for newborns!

The hammock was terrific for those first few months. Our daughter had reflux and colic so it was a life-saver! Once she learned to roll over she didn't like sleeping in it anymore though, but that was fine, we just moved her to our bed at that point.

This expensive "contraption" is worth every penny! My DD would not sleep on anything but me as a newborn. I was losing my mind until I finally got this. She would sleep in there so peacefully.

This is a life saver for a fussy baby. I used to nanny for a family who had one of these and it was the only way to keep the baby asleep for longer than 20 minutes at a time. LIFE SAVER!

Good for Newborns

This is great to have for newborns, but once they start turning over it's not safe anymore. My DD was very wiggly and we could not use this for very long, but I would recommend even if you only get to use it for a little while.

Can't wait to get mine

I don't have one yet, but I'm hoping my dear friend is done with hers when my little one arrives. It works like a dream with her little one, who fusses a lot at night. And if they start to wake, you can gently push it and it rocks/bounces baby back to sleep. What a wonderful, natural sleeping bed for baby, without the problems that leaving baby in a swing or other toy can have.

The pictures are misleading. The actual sleep space inside the cocoon is too large for an infant under 6 months without additional bedding, which the instructions explicitly state should not be used.

nice but worried about safety

this is a great sleeper, my friend whose daughter had colic bought this and loved it but i am just worried that it might not be very safe... I'll have to do some more research

ideal for baby, but then what?

this is a very comforting, soothing rocker/swing bed for an infant...but once baby can start moving, sitting up, etc. what next? another item hanging around (hehe, literally) with no other purpose...i suppose its good to store cloth diapers in, anyways...

We tried this at a friends house, but it didn't seem any different than the cheapo swing we already had. Not where our son was concerned anyways. His swing was the only place he would sleep for a month or two when his colic was really bad, but his cheap swing worked fine.

Great idea

I thought this was a great idea and so cute. But my daughter hated it! She only like sleeping in my bed. I did put her in it for naptimes sometimes and she tolerated it, but she prefered being in a bed.

I wanted to like this... I wanted my daughter to like it, but she simply couldn't get comfortable and it seemed to "scrunch" her up at the bottom and force her chin to rest on her chest. We ended up geting a pack-n-play for her to sleep in right next to our bed.

i really wanted this until i decided to read reviews that other wrote in. I love the way its made and would be extra safe to have baby in while house cleaning but going to wait on this one
